LVAD HeartMate Men’s ActiveLife™ Vest

I'm a thankful recent recipient of an LVAD.

The hospital furnished a "handbag" type of gear holder, with a strap that allows the bag to hang around your neck. It was sorta OK for the first two weeks, but the strap and full weight rested on one very small area of the neck. It constantly hurt my neck, plus there was no way to tuck-in the Drive Line . I was terrified each time I wore it that the Drive Line would catch on something, like a door knob.

LVAD GEAR was holding a killer-price Black Friday Sale and I bought three of these vests.

Oh My! What a difference this vest has made in my daily wearing of all the batteries and controller.

I bought/selected the XL size as I'm 6'2" and 215 pounds. The fit is perfect!

The zip-up vest has pockets on the inside that you can chose which side to nestle the controller. To balance the weight I insert one battery on each interior pocket, which has a hook/loop strap to hold it in place solidly. My Drive Line is on my left side, so it's more comfortable to put the controller on the right interior controller-holding pocket.

Zip it up and and it is amazingly comfortable. ALL the weight is evenly distributed along BOTH spandex cloth shoulders of the vest.

And, since it is mostly strong mesh material I can put it on, it breathes, and I can put a shirt on over it to conceal what's going on LVAD wise.

This is a long review, sorry. But this vest has so many comfortable features, just PERFECT for my needs.
