    Best product out there in this horrible situation, I have tried other amazon stuff for my active life style, to no avail, like the shooting jackets….puhhhh. From an LVAD wearer myself, this is the best you can get without having an LVAD at all. You can’t see it from the front, and only a slight bulge in the back. I am very active as a Sr. Manufacturing Plant Engineer actively crawling around machines and this rarely ever causes me issues over the stuff the hospital gives you. Outside of work, woodworking, shooting guns, motorcycle riding, wife/girlfriend time!!!, you can’t beat this breakthrough.

    We bought these for our Dad who recently got an LVAD. He was constantly forgetting to grab the bag when he got up and it would pull on his driveline. Since giving him these tank tops he is SO much happier and they provide him a sense of normalcy. So far we have four tank tops and the sleep belt, but I know we’ll continue to add to his collection.     Ladies, I have been longing for a better way to wear my batteries besides the holsters. I don’t like the shirts. I have tried backpacks, ok, but hurts my neck and shoulders. I tried a fanny pack, ok, but hurt my back. I even made some other items.

    I ordered a black medium one. Just got it today and wore it all day. Very sturdy and comfortable. Does a good job distributing the weight. Large/deep outside pockets. It zips up, but I am a little too big to zip this one. That’s ok, I like the size. I may order a white large one. I am 5ft 2in and 1xx lbs. LOL

    One Con: I wear mine open. It pulls down on the back of my neck, just a little too much. It would be nice if it was cut just a bit lower around the back of the neck.

    This is my second Sleeping Belt. I have had the first one almost a year and a half, and it was beginning to get a bit loose. I learned with that one that if I got some felt from the local fabric store I could put it over the velcro hooks where necessary to keep them from snagging the stretchy material. I don’t know what I’d do without this belt. The pump running light shines through the material when I get up at night, so I feel a bit like IronMan! Great belt and fast service.

    I have a friend that is xxxl maybe xxxxl, so with the comment above with the battery placement due to cable length, on a guy of this size is that an issue? I’ve found that the vest looks like the best way to hide the vad, so I hope you can help with this concern. He’s really gonna be self conscious for a while! If it doesn’t work for him can we get a refund?

    I’m going to really enjoy the LVAD shirts once I finish healing. I’m a couple of weeks past discharge and things are still bit tender. Even at that, when I tried one on it fit very nicely (I ordered mediums – I’m a little under 5′ 6″, 136 pounds, chest 37″ – squarely between a small and a medium.) It’s going to be the solution when I’m healed up and especially when the weather gets warmer. It’s great to have all the equipment in one garment. It makes getting dressed much easier, and everything is balanced and out of sight.

    I’m loving the leather vest. I’m a couple of weeks past discharge, so things are still healing up, and the vest doesn’t press on any tender places. The vest is FAR more comfortable than anything else I’ve tried. My back no longer hurts and I don’t waddle when I walk. And it looks really nice – you can’t really tell I’ve got an LVAD. I did find I need to arrange things differently than the photo. I have a HeartMate 3, and the left battery cable is barely long enough to reach the controller if it’s in the right snap pocket. So I swap the positions of the controller and right battery.
    Perhaps a future solution would be to place a cell phone pocket on the right side as well as the left, so I could put the controller there. It might need to be a bit sturdier, but it would avoid having to stretch to the snap pocket. But with the current design, swapping the controller and right battery works for me. I am delighted with it as is!

    I absolutely love the heartmate shirt! The weight of the equipment is distributed perfectly. Wish you had a tank shirt to wear in the summer. The shirt sleeves show underneath the top shirt as well as adds to the heat of summer.

He feels like he is able to move more freely and it distributes the weight of the batteries and monitor. Needless to say, we just ordered 6 more! My only suggestion would be to offer more colors.   • The sleeveless shirt was purchased in white, black and beige. the white and beige strangely fit differently than the black.
    The white and beige ran a bit wider and longer whereas the black was tighter and shorter in length (tag reads 2XL just like the other two).
    This shirt makes a world of difference in the life of my husband allowing him so much more freedom. Even with the fit glitch, the shirt(s) are fantastic.
    We only had the vest that came upon his discharge and that is just too uncomfortable and inconvenient. And even though expensive, the shirts of any choosing and any color are a must have for anyone with an LVAD adapting and transitioning to their new lifestyle.

In 2012 I found the equipment I was given with my LVAD caused back and neck aches so I set out to design something more comfortable. My next goal is to make the same quality shirt with the same materials less expensive. We don’t skimp on anything. Our goal is to produce the best shirt possible.

  • My dad is a recent LVAD patient. We purchased him a shirt to see how he would like it. He loves it! We purchased more he loved it so much! He’s able to keep his equipment secure while having the ability to conceal it. This certainly help give him more confidence and feel “normal”. I can tell you to get the longest life out of the shirt, it needs about 24 hours of recovery time to go back to it’s original shape after being stretched. so if he alternates every other day he will get the longest life out of the shirt.     • Thanks Edward for the vest review. That vest was the first Item I designed. I had several so I kept one clean of stains, another one I used working and painting, and a third for everyday use. it helped to have some in white and some in black. I was very active and found it to be very comfortable and relieve a lot of the weight.

  • I really like the LVAD T-shirts. There is something I would like to see change: the battery pockets are slanted and too far forward for me. If you had a version where the battery pockets were straighter up and down and were more underneath my armpits, that would be great and I definitely would buy them. I keep telling the doctors and nurses at my appointments how much I like the shirts. They have said they would mention the shirts to other LVAD patients.

    • Hi Fred, Thanks for taking the time to review and write with suggestions. We did do some samples for testing with the batteries dropping straight in from the top ddirectly underneath the arms. The first thing we found was some of the people using the larger sizes did not have enough battery cord to reach from the controller. Each of us found it was easier to get the batteries in with the angled opening. In a few months we will be introducing a controller pocket you wear on your belt. That will help distribute weight better between the shoulders and waist. It also makes it less noticable. Thanks for the suggestion. I will give this another try.

  • This item is a must for LVAD patients. Absolutely love the shirt! Life is much easier then you have everything on you and you don’t have to worry about a case to carry it in. Very comfortable.
    Take care in ordering the right size. I missed it and had to exchange it. I have three LVAD shirts now so I can always have a clean one.

  • We bought 3 T Shirts for my brother John. He like them the best. Very comfortable for him to move around. Keeping them clean is not as easy but that is my brother’s problem. In a year I will let you know how well they held up. For now they work perfectly.

    • To get the longest life out of your shirts, wear them only one day, and let them rest a day or two. Wash them in cold water and let them air dry laying flat. This allows the shirt to recover any stretching from wearing. They do best with 24 hours of recovery time. Thank you for your business.

  • I recently purchased a t-shirt and liked it so well I bought another one, they give me free movement of my arms and protects my equipment. I bought the shirts while visiting family in Ky., since coming back to sunny Florida I have purchased 3 tank tops and they are great.   • Thank you for your LVAD vest. I am 4 years into my heart mate 3 and have used your shirts foe several years. Thanks to you I function much better than I anticipated. My only suggestion is to see if you could use a Velcro that would last longer. If it would hold better after washing it would really be appreciated. Please keep up the good work.

    • Hi Paul, It’s always great to hear our products are improving somebody’s life. I appreciate the suggestions too. I have been looking for a better velcro with regards to durability. Often times it is lint gathered in the hook side (the scratchy side). you can get the lint out with a tooth pick or similar item just pulling lint from each row. A stiff toothbrush sometimes works and is a lot faster. Heat breaks down the velcro too, so avoid the dryer or set it to cool. After extended use, the hook side just gets dull, worn down and needs to be replaced. Contact us direct if this is the case.

  • The tank top is extremely comfortable and the generous length is greatly appreciated I have one suggestion for the women’s tank. A lower cut in the front would make it wearable under many different outfits. It would be more appealing

      I am glad you like the tank top and that your finding it comfortable. While I appreciate your feed back on the neck, it is a risky change, a double edge sword kind of thing. Some people would like it cut deeper, while others want to keep it somewhat short. If I change it in any way, I will loose customers. So we are trying to find that happy medium. I do know you can take it to a local seamstress and they can cut it down as far as you would like. It is a small change and probably less money to alter it locally then to ship it back, and pay our customizing fee. Once we cut it, it can not be returned so I also lean toward having a person do it locally. If you do it locally you can try it on and get it marked exactly how you want it. Thanks again for the feedback. As we make new products I will keep it in mind.

  • I don’t have enough positives to say about various LVAD Gear products and their incredible customer service. As a new LVAD patient, I am trying to find ways to incorporate the device comfortably and safely while I try to return to my active lifestyle. The tank top, t-shirt, sleeping belt and back pack are all part of my regular rotation.
    Although I don’t wear the batteries in the shirt as it’s too heavy for me throughout the day, I do use the shirts to keep the controller and lines under cover and protected.
    When I had an issue with sizing, the team was so quick to react and send me what fits perfectly.

  • I have a number of products from this LVAD gear, including T-shirts, sleeping girdle, go bag, backpack, and the mesh vest. I have tried other products from other websites and return them all. I use a sleeping girdle and go bag backpack every day the advantage of the backpack and the vest is the wide elastic straps which are comfortable and importantly absorb much of the weight
    I know spending most of my time in the vest which I bought a size small so that I could pull it well up my torso and keep it close to my body. It works great.
    Highly recommended everything you need to keep your mobile and active if we Gotta wear this stuff, we better wear it with the best support we can find.

  • The heart hospitals should be sending patients home with the vest instead of poorly designed product they give them. The design is comfortable and made to accommodate all hardware the patient has to deal with. It increases their comfort and mobility in performing activities of daily living we all take for granted. My brother was trying to use purses & backpacks which required him to remember to pickup when he got up from sitting or moving from one place to the other.

    The Mesh vest is exactly what he needed to move freely move around and the Sleeping belt make it easier for him to get up at night to use the bathroom. I just purchased another Mesh vest for him to ensure if something happened to the one he had then he had a backup. They are machine washable and do not shrink which is very convenient.

    I can not express my gratitude enough that the thought behind the design is a game changer for those who have LVAD HeartMate pumps!

    I wish it came in brown as well. All components fit perfectly, and wires tuck in well. This is a great way to feel a little closer to pre-LVAD….

  • Almost immediate response. Placed order one evening, received confirmation email shortly after, vest arrived in the morning 2 days later.

    This is my third vest. I’ve been very pleased with them. Great product! One of the men in our LVAD support group asked how I managed to look “normal” — he had the battery/controller holder that had come with his LVAD – they were very noticeable. Other than the green LED that shows through some of my shirts, nobody notices I’m wearing anything unusual.

  • My first LVAD Gear shirt lasted a very long time…but it was time for a new one. I got the black tank for HM3. I ordered the wrong size and they happily let me return it and even custom made me a new shirt in the right size with the controller pocket on the left.   • The vests/shirts are great. They cling (in a good way) and they spread the weight evenly from side to side. The sleeping belt is OK but better than leaving the lines unattached.

  • I purchased the leather men’s vest. It is beautiful. The inner pockets hold the controller and batteries securely. I ordered the 3X as per my measurements, unfortunately I am unable to close the snaps. I would consider buying a 4X if that size was made.

    • Hi Dennis, We can make this item up to a 5x. We will exchange the 3x you already purchased for the 4x. We don’t always have this size made in advance, so it is best to call or message us to get things started. We also have two different styles available. One is a very refined soft leather and light weight. The other is more of a heavy leather, used often for motorcycling.

  • I have been wearing your Ts for over 4 years now and really liked them. I recently purchased one of the sleeveless undershirts in nude color. I was a little concerned when I ordered it because the controller pocket was centered instead of lower left as my older shirts had them. After wearing it for over a month now, I find that I prefer the centered pocket and ordered two more just the other day. I like the change you did to the material as it is more comfortable against my skin than the old spandex ones I have been wearing for 4 years! Thank you!

  • I bought the leather vest. I was very unhappy with the weight around my waist and the soreness of my shoulders the hospital issued gear cause. I was sure I just wasted my money on this best but BOY was I WRONG. The vest is very comfortable and spreads the weight perfectly. It’s soft, looks great. I am very happy and pleased with it.   • I can say no more than has been said. I was really apprehensive regarding the final look but it is great….reordered another right after looking in mirror. I can wear all my shirts tucked in and it looks normal. Normally wear medium shirt but the small fits fine . Called lvad to see if I could exchange it and they sent a return slip in the package.Also got the sleep shirt and it works perfectly. My wife worried about the cost but once she saw it encouraged me to buy 2 nd shirt. .GREAT JOB LVAD

  • My husband is a new LVAD patient, and after reading reviews we bought a number of items from this company. The undershirts are so helpful and well made. He loves them. We also ordered the leather vest according to measurements, but when it arrived it was way too small to fit around all his gear and still be able to snap close. The company was wonderful and immediately sent out a replacement vest, along with a return envelope to send back the one that didn’t fit. Excellent customer service. Thank you so much for helping us in our time of worry and adjustment in our lives. I’m sure we will be buying many more items in the future from LVAD Gear!
